Tim Guldimann (born 1950) is the Swiss Ambassador to Berlin since May 2010. He entered Swiss diplomatic service in 1982, with assignments in Bern and Cairo.Left diplomatic service in 1991 to become responsible for foreign affairs in the Science Agency, Ministry of Interior in Bern.1995 professorship at the University of Bern. Head of the OSCE Assistance Group in Chechnya, Ambassador (1996-97) and Head of the OSCE Mission to Croatia, Ambassador (1997-99), Swiss Ambassador to Iran and in this quality representative of US interests (1999-2004). 2004-07 sabbatical leave from the Swiss Foreign Ministry, teaching international relations (particularly on Western-Oriental relations) at the Universities of Frankfurt and Bern as well as at the College of Europe in Bruges and Warsaw. Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, Ambassador and Deputy Special Representative of the UN-SG in Kosovo 2007-08. October-December 2008 visiting professor at the University Frankfurt. 2009-10 Senior Adviser and Head of the Middle East Project of the Henri Dunant Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue, Geneva.
